Energy Psychology Workshop

One Day Introductory Workshop in York

Please note that this workshop has been delayed until we can meet as a group more easily.

Location: Central York, easily accessible by train, bus and car. Venue TBC

Date: TBC.

Time: 10am – 4pm.

Cost: £60

This workshop is designed for psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors with an interest in exploring energy psychology approaches. Energy psychology began in the 1980s when psychological therapists started integrating Eastern energy approaches with Western psychological therapy.

By using awareness of the Chinese meridian system or the Indian chakra system in their work, therapists found that people were able to work through their clients’ emotional issues more quickly.

Energy psychology has expanded to include a range of different techniques. The most well known and well researched is the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). This involves tapping on the end of the meridians while working through psychological issues.

Energy psychology has an expanding evidence base.

We will also cover:

  • The background and development of energy psychology
  • An overview of the evidence base
  • Three different energy psychology approaches:
    • The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
    • Tapas Accupressure Technique (TAT)
    • Imagery Based Energy Psychology (IBEP)

You will have a chance to watch demonstrations and practise these techniques during the workshop.

Speakers and Organisers: Dr Judith Anderson (consultant psychiatrist and psychotherapist) and Dr Sarah Marzillier (clinical psychologist).
