How good are you at loving yourself? I mean really loving yourself. Not just when things are going well, when you’ve been doing a good job at work, when you haven’t yelled at your kids or snapped at the dog. How good are you at loving yourself all of the time, even the “bad” parts that you don’t much like? Take a moment, think about it, notice what comes up for you.
Loving yourself is the most important task in your life, bar none. I cannot overstate how much it matters. It should be the beginning, middle and end of your daily tasks. You need to start the day with it, keep loving yourself through the day and make sure you end the day with it too.
If you don’t try to master this (and it’s not easy, I know) you will struggle and the people you love will struggle too. It might seem like a truism but it’s also a deeper truth: loving others always starts with loving ourselves.
